In honor of Career and Technical Education Month, we recognize our agriculture pathways. From Agribusiness to Animal Science, our Ag Department offers a variety of courses that prepare students to pursue careers in agriculture or study agriculture at the post-secondary level.

In honor of Black History Month, we recognize Willa Brown Chappell. Chappell was born in Glasgow and was the first African American woman in the United States to earn a pilot's license in 1937. She also became the first African American officer in the Civil Air Patrol and the first American woman to hold both a mechanic's license and a commercial pilot's license. Willa Brown Chappell broke barriers, paving the way for future generations in aviation and beyond.

Barren County Schools was recognized for the success of our Kindergarten Readiness Program at the Live United Awards and Community Celebration on February 6, 2025. While the regional kindergarten readiness average is 51%, Barren County is at 70%. United Way has been a huge supporter of Barren County’s Kindergarten Readiness Camp for several years. What an awesome community partner!
